The Victorian Alps region of Northeast Victoria is an amazing natural playground, offering a truly unique outdoors adventure experience. Its a mountainous region located in Northeast Victoria, approximately 4 hours drive from Melbourne. The Victorian Alps is part of the larger Australian Alps conservation zone, a National Heritage listed area of approximately 1.6 million hectares comprised of 11 national parks and reserves stretching from Baw Baw National Park in southern Victoria up to Brindabella National Park in the ACT near Canberra.
This internationally significant conservation zone is like no other in the world, a mountainous area within the driest and flattest continent on Earth. It offers stunning alpine landscapes, with much of it covered in a blanket of snow often from around mid June through until October each year, after which time the alpine meadows explode into colours as a variety of alpine wildflowers blossom after the snows have melted away. The valleys are filled with pristine creeks and rivers, flowing through unique townships like Mount Beauty and Bright which serve as an excellent starting point for your Victorian Alps adventure experience.
